Webster’s Dictionary defines EMBRACE: to clasp in the arms; hug; cherish and love; encircle or enclose; to readily or gladly take up; to take in or include as a part, item or element of a more inclusive whole; to be equal or equivalent to.

Before a church can bring people to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord, the church (God’s body) must first embrace them as they are. We must clasp them in our arms. We must include them as an equal part of a more inclusive whole. We must get close to those who are lost and encircle and enclose them into our midst.

A church that learns how to EMBRACE the prodigal sons/daughters of the world is a church through which God can change the world. In order to EMBRACE the prodigal, we must also learn to EMBRACE the Message that only Jesus can give us eternal life. We must EMBRACE the fact that Jesus is “the Way, the Truth and the Life.”
